...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 7 AM THURSDAY TO 4 PM AKDT SATURDAY... * WHAT...Snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 6 to 12 inches expected. * WHERE...Eastern Alaska Range South of Trims Camp. * WHEN...From 7 AM Thursday to 4 PM AKDT Saturday. * IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult with wet snow on warm pavement. Expect some of the snow to melt as it makes contact with the ground, especially during the afternoons. Any wet spots will likely refreeze overnight making for patches of ice. Visibility may be reduced below 1 mile at times, especially during periods of wind gusts up to 25 mph Thursday and Friday afternoons. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Away from the highway, snowfall totals in the higher terrain may be as high as 18 inches. Most accumulating snow will occur before sunrise and after sunset Thursday night and Friday night.
