...FLOOD WARNING NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 445 PM CDT THIS AFTERNOON... * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues. * WHERE...A portion of southeast Kansas, including the following counties, Chautauqua, Labette and Montgomery. * WHEN...Until 445 PM CDT Saturday. * IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Numerous roads remain closed due to flooding. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 932 AM CDT, local law enforcement reported flooding in the warned area. Between 3 and 5 inches of rain have fallen. - Flooding impacts will continue, but no additional rainfall is expected. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Coffeyville, Caney, Dearing, Tyro, Havana and Niotaze.
Do not drive into flooded areas or go around barricades. Nearly two feet of water will carry most vehicles away. Turn around, don't drown.

Neosho River near Chanute affecting Neosho and Allen Counties. * WHAT...Moderate flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Neosho River near Parsons. * WHEN...Until Monday afternoon. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 8:30 AM CDT Saturday the stage was 25.2 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 25.2 feet this afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage early Monday morning. - Flood stage is 21.0 feet.

West of the town of Faulkner, homes along 120th Street between Star Road and Clem Road begin to flood. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 7:00 AM CDT Saturday the stage was 21.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 21.7 feet this evening. It will then fall below flood stage early Monday afternoon. - Flood stage is 17.0 feet.
