Nearshore waters from Washington Island to Two Rivers...
Open waters of Lake Michigan from Rock Island Passage to Two
Rivers...

At 1007 AM CDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing
waterspouts was located near Algoma, or 11 NM northeast of Kewaunee
Pierhead Light, moving east at 20 knots.

HAZARD...Waterspouts, large hail, and wind gusts in excess of 50
knots.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally
hazardous seas. Boats could suffer significant structural
damage in high winds and hail. Small craft could capsize in
suddenly higher waves.

Algoma around 1010 AM CDT.

Information:
Move to safe harbor until hazardous weather passes.

Boaters should seek safe harbor immediately until this storm passes.
Wind gusts 34 knots or greater, high waves, dangerous lightning, and

* At 951 AM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line from
over Whitefish Point to 14 NM southeast of Algoma, or along a line
from over Whitefish Point to 15 NM east of Kewaunee Pierhead Light,
moving east at 45 knots.

HAZARD...Large hail and wind gusts in excess of 50 knots.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.
