.Southwest winds will increase across northeastern New Mexico on
this afternoon. Gusts of 35 to 45 mph will be commonplace, while
humidities drop below 15 percent for the second straight day.
While portions of the area, particularly Harding and eastern San
Miguel Counties, received wetting rainfall on Friday and Saturday
afternoons, these dry conditions will rapidly dry out fine fuels
such as grasses. Strong winds and low humidity will redevelop
Tuesday across a larger area of eastern NM, bringing the potential
for rapid fire spread to areas that received little rainfall from
this past Friday and Saturday.

The National Weather Service in Albuquerque has issued a Red Flag
Warning...which is in effect from noon to 7 PM MDT Monday. A Fire
Weather Watch has also been issued. This Fire Weather Watch is in
effect from Tuesday afternoon through Tuesday evening.

* AREA AND TIMING...Northeast Highlands (Zone 123) for Monday from
Noon to 7 PM MDT and Tuesday afternoon through Tuesday evening.

* 20 FOOT WINDS...Southwest winds 20 to 25 mph with gusts up to 40
mph today. Southwest winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 50 mph
on Tuesday

* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...Minimum values 13 to 19 percent today and 11
to 16 percent Tuesday.

* IMPACTS...Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly.
Outdoor burning is not recommended.
