...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 5 PM THURSDAY TO NOON EST FRIDAY...

* WHAT...Mixed precipitation expected. Total snow and sleet
accumulations up to one inch and ice accumulations up to one tenth
to one quarter of an inch.

* WHERE...In New York, the eastern Catskills, Schoharie Valley,
Helderbergs, Mohawk Valley, southern Adirondacks, upper Hudson
Valley, Capital District, and northern Taconics. In southern
Vermont, Bennington and Windham Counties. In Massachusetts,
Berkshire County. In Connecticut, Litchfield County.

* WHEN...From 5 PM Thursday to noon EST Friday.

* IMPACTS...Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous
conditions could impact the Friday morning commute.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Precipitation begins Thursday afternoon as
mainly rain, changing over to a wintry mix of sleet and freezing
rain, with some snow across northern areas. The wintry mix tapers
off Friday morning. The highest ice amounts of locally around a
quarter of an inch are expected across the southern Adirondacks
and the high terrain of western New England.

Slow down and use caution while traveling.

Be prepared for slippery roads. If you are going outside, watch your
first few steps taken on stairs, sidewalks, and driveways. These
surfaces could be icy and slippery, increasing your risk of a fall
and injury.

...Patches of Black Ice Expected Overnight into Early Thursday Morning...

Residual wet surfaces from snowmelt will freeze overnight as
temperatures drop back well below freezing. This will allow
patches of black ice to form on untreated ground surfaces.
Motorists traveling overnight through early Thursday morning
should allow extra time to reach their destination and be prepared
for black ice. Untreated walkways and parking lots may also
become very slippery for pedestrians.
