...FLOOD WARNING NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL EARLY MONDAY MORNING...

...The Flood Warning is extended for the following rivers in
Kansas...

Ninnescah River near Belle Plaine affecting Sumner County.

Ninnescah River near Peck affecting Sumner and Sedgwick Counties.

Ninnescah South Fork near Murdock affecting Kingman County.

* WHAT...Major flooding is occurring and major flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Ninnescah River near Belle Plaine.

* WHEN...Until early Monday morning.

* IMPACTS...At 26.0 feet, A section of K55 floods to a depth of 2
feet of water starting from 300 feet east of the river bridge and
expanding out to 25 feet wide. Expect flood waters on Highway 81
to expand further south to the Y intersection of K55. The small
community of Ponderosa Estates, 5 miles northwest of Belle Plaine,
will have a few homes flooded and roads leading into the Estates
flooded. Timber Brook Estates will have roads inundated by over a
foot of water.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 6:15 AM CDT Saturday the stage was 27.5 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage
late tomorrow morning and continue falling to 12.4 feet
Thursday morning.
- Flood stage is 23.0 feet.

Information:
Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive
cars through flooded areas.

Do not drive into flooded areas or go around barricades. Nearly two
feet of water will carry most vehicles away. Turn around, don't
drown.
