...FLOOD WARNING NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL EARLY SATURDAY AFTERNOON... ...The Flood Warning is extended for the following rivers in Illinois... Illinois River at La Salle affecting La Salle, Putnam and Bureau Counties. For the Illinois River (Upper)...including La Salle...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and forecast to continue. * WHERE...Illinois River from Starved Rock Lock and Dam downstream to confluence with Big Bureau Creek, including the La Salle gauge. * WHEN...Until early Saturday afternoon. * IMPACTS...At 22.0 feet, Lower parking lot at Starved Rock State Park is inundated east of La Salle. High water levels begin to impact shipping interests along the river. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 8:45 PM CDT Tuesday the stage was 23.2 feet. - Forecast...The river has crested and will gradually fall through this weekend, and possibly fall below flood stage by early next week. - Flood stage is 20.0 feet. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
