...FLOOD WARNING NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL LATE FRIDAY MORNING...

...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in Indiana...
Illinois...

Wabash River at Lafayette down to Covington...and at Hutsonville
Legacy Power Plant Site.

...The Flood Warning is extended for the following rivers in
Illinois...Indiana...

Wabash River at Montezuma down to Terre Haute...and at Riverton.

.Heavy rainfall since Monday afternoon totaling generally two to
four inches across western central Indiana...has produced minor
flooding along much of the Wabash River.  Flooding will end at
Lafayette and Covington Thursday...with minor flooding continuing at
Terre Haute and points downriver into next week.

* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Wabash River at Covington.

* WHEN...Until late Friday morning.

* IMPACTS...At 17.5 feet, Some low agricultural fields flood.
Backyard flood of cottages a short distance north of U.S. Highway
136.  High water blocks land access to at least one residence.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 9:45 PM EDT Wednesday the stage was 16.3 feet.
- Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
ending at 9:45 PM EDT Wednesday was 16.3 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 17.4
feet just after midnight tonight. It will then fall below
flood stage late tomorrow evening.
- Flood stage is 16.0 feet.

Information:
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
