...FLOOD WARNING NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL EARLY TUESDAY AFTERNOON... ...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in Indiana... Illinois... Wabash River at Lafayette down to Covington...and at Hutsonville Legacy Power Plant Site. ...The Flood Warning is extended for the following rivers in Illinois...Indiana... Wabash River at Montezuma down to Terre Haute...and at Riverton. .Heavy rainfall since Monday afternoon totaling generally two to four inches across western central Indiana...has produced minor flooding along much of the Wabash River. Flooding will end at Lafayette and Covington Thursday...with minor flooding continuing at Terre Haute and points downriver into next week. * WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Wabash River at Riverton. * WHEN...Until early Tuesday afternoon. * IMPACTS...At 18.0 feet, Extensive lowland flooding is in progress. High water surrounds many river cabins. Access to most river cabins is by boat only. Levees begin to protect farmland. Extensive flooding of Leaverton Park occurs in Palestine, Illinois. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 10:00 PM EDT Wednesday /9:00 PM CDT Wednesday/ the stage was 15.9 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 10:00 PM EDT Wednesday /9:00 PM CDT Wednesday/ was 15.9 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 17.2 feet Sunday morning.
