...HIGH SURF ADVISORY NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 5 PM CHST FRIDAY... * WHAT...Large breaking waves of 7 to 10 feet. * WHERE...South and west facing reefs of Palau and Yap. * WHEN...Until 5 PM ChST Friday. * IMPACTS...Dangerous swimming and surfing conditions and localized beach erosion. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...As Tropical Depression 06W (Jangmi) continues to develop and move north away from Palau and Yap Proper, the monsoon tail will keep surf conditions above 9 feet through Friday along south and west facing reefs. Conditions may begin to improve as early as Friday evening.
Inexperienced swimmers should remain out of the water due to dangerous surf conditions.
