...FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR THE MONROE CANYON BURN SCAR REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 815 PM MDT THIS EVENING FOR NORTHERN PIUTE AND SOUTH CENTRAL SEVIER COUNTIES...

At 655 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy
rain over the Monroe Canyon Burn Scar. Between 0.4 and 0.65 inches
of rain have fallen in the Monroe Canyon and Dry Canyon drainages.
Flash flooding is ongoing.

Excessive rainfall over the burn scar will result in debris flow
moving through Monroe Canyon and Dry Canyon. The debris flow can
consist of rock, mud, vegetation and other loose materials.

HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing
flash flooding in and around the Monroe Canyon Burn
Scar, especially within Monroe Canyon.

IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of areas in and around
the Monroe Canyon Burn Scar.

Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Monroe Canyon and Dry Canyon.

Information:
This is a life threatening situation. Heavy rainfall will cause
extensive and severe flash flooding of creeks...streams...and
ditches in the Monroe Canyon Burn Scar. Severe debris flows can also
be anticipated across roads. Roads and driveways may be washed away
in places. If you encounter flood waters...climb to safety.

Move to higher ground now. Act quickly to protect your life.

Stay away or be swept away. River banks and culverts can become
unstable and unsafe.
