...FLOOD WATCH NOW IN EFFECT THROUGH FRIDAY EVENING...

A period of moderate to heavy rain is expected through Friday as
low pressure moves up the coast. The rain will fall on a primed
snowpack leading to significant melt. The combination of rain and
snowmelt will increase flows in rivers and streams, some of which
could reach critical levels.

* WHAT...Flooding caused by rain and snowmelt continues to be
possible.

* WHERE...Portions of south central and southwest Maine, including
the following areas, in Maine, Central Interior Cumberland. In
south central Maine, Coastal Waldo, Interior Waldo, Kennebec,
Knox, Lincoln, Sagadahoc and Southern Somerset. In southwest
Maine, Androscoggin and Coastal Cumberland.

* WHEN...Through Friday evening.

* IMPACTS...Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding
may occur in poor drainage and urban areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- Rainfall of 2 inches or more is possible in the watch area.
This in combination with 1 to 2 inches of snowmelt will lead
to small stream flooding. Urban and low lying flooding is
also possible.

You should monitor the latest forecast and be alert for possible
Flood Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be
prepared to take action should flooding develop.
