...WINTER STORM WARNING NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 AM AKST MONDAY...

* WHAT...Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations between 8 and
14 inches. Winds gusting as high as 40 mph.

* WHERE...South Slopes of the Western Brooks Range and Upper Kobuk
Valleys.

* WHEN...Until 9 AM AKST Monday.

* IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult. Areas of blowing snow
could significantly reduce visibility. Gusty winds could bring
down tree branches.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Strongest winds will likely be at the higher
elevations. Valley wind gusts will likely be significantly weaker.
