...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL NOON AKST TUESDAY... ...BLIZZARD WARNING WILL EXPIRE AT 9 AM AKST THIS MORNING...

* WHAT...Mixed precipitation and blowing snow. Additional snow
accumulations up to 3 inches and ice accumulations up to 0.05
inches. Winds gusting as high as 40 mph.

* WHERE...Bering Strait Coast and Shishmaref.

* WHEN...Until noon AKST Tuesday.

* IMPACTS...Visibilities may drop below 1/2 mile due to falling and
blowing snow. Travel could be very difficult.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Weakening winds have improved conditions
early Sunday. Warming temperatures have turned snow into a wintry
mix. Precipitation diminishes late Sunday into early Monday. Winds
shift to the north and increase Sunday afternoon into Sunday
evening bringing colder air. As temperatures cool late Sunday
remaining precipitation changes back to snow and wet surfaces are
expected to freeze. As northerly winds increase there may be
periods of reduced visibility due to blowing snow.
