...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 1215 AM EDT TUESDAY... * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...A portion of central North Carolina, including the following counties, Cumberland, Hoke, Montgomery, Moore and Richmond. * WHEN...Until 1215 AM EDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 921 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Up to 2 inches of rain have fallen. - Some locations that may experience flooding include... Fayetteville, Southern Pines, Raeford, Pinehurst, Aberdeen, Hoffman, Antioch, Hope Mills, Pinebluff, Ellerbe, Foxfire, Taylortown, Norman, Ashley Heights, Bowmore and Silver City.
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.
