...FLOOD WATCH NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 AM EDT THIS MORNING... The Flood Watch is now in effect for * Portions of western and central Massachusetts. * Until 7 AM EDT this morning. * Areas of moderate to heavy rainfall will continue early this morning in portions of western and central Massachusetts. One half to one inch of additional rainfall is possible early this morning. Some areas received 3 to 4 inches of rain, so there will be some ponding of water in spots. Rain will taper off in the Watch area early this afternoon. * Significant urban and poor drainage flooding is likely early this morning.
A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding based on current forecasts. You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop.
